Sovereign

The Gold Sovereign (or Sovereign) is a historical coin originally introduced in England in 1489 by King Henry VII. The modern version, struck by the Royal Mint since 1817, is best known for its iconic design of King George and the dragon, created by Italian engraver Benedetto Pistrucci. The coin, with a gold content of 22 carats (91.67% pure gold), is prized by collectors and investors for its historical significance, high purity and worldwide recognition.
